Scented flowers to grow?

I'm about to buy my first house and have my own garden to cultivate for the first time. It's a small, sheltered, north-east facing garden in the south of England. My daughter is a partially-sighted wheelchair user, and I would like to beautifully scented plants for her to enjoy. I have thought of training a honeysuckle up one wall of the brick-built shed, and also thought of lavender, night-scented stocks, and a Peace rose. I won't know what the soil is like until I complete the purchase. Can anyone advise me whether they think I'm likely to be able to grow these successfully in these conditions, and also suggest any others? Large shrubs won't do as the garden is small.
